Server Trouble Log

We have a VPS so no one downloading porn is going to cause lag. Our VPS should have tons of bandwidth. I am unsure if its the internet or our host company that is causing the problem. Please everyone continue to post here when you experience lag. Its very hard for me to gauge if I am not on and only one person complains of lag. If everyone could just pop on and make a short post saying lag and the time it would go a long way to helping us fix it or see its disrupting the whole server and finding a new host.

In all seriousness, I'm aware that there's a problem. I will see if anything can be done about it.

ETA: It is disrupting the whole server. I'm quite certain that we don't have half a dozen people being dropped simultaneously due to highly coincidental lag spikes.

Almost everyone dropped right after the lag above and its been choppy ever since.

Thank you every who has been posting here please continue to do so as this information is vial to us figuring out what is going wrong when the server lags. Sarley is going to get time to look at the logs this weekend and see what has been causing this. Keep it up for him so he has more to work with.

Everyone got big lag spike, then bigger one immediately after where everyone randomly dropped 1630GMT. Slight lag before hand but didn't feel out of the ordinary.

1900GMT, a few people crashed, but i didn't. I hadn't seen before that, but I've noticed the last three times there have been crashes has been just before the timed xp. maybe hour 10 as people generally log in just in time to catch the xp if they are quick.

And suddenly seems stable again after 10minutes. Minimal lag.

I may be grasping at straws here... but anyone see a connection between server time-outs and the time of day change? I'll get kicked and more times then not, when I come back it's either light outside or dark outside when before the kick it was vise versa

Ok I'm not sure if this should go here but I believe it falls under a server issue

So Tuesday night was playin with some others and ran into an issue with packs not generating next to bodies. So if you died, there was no pack- you just lost all your gold. I can recall it happening on three occations.

Now, last night a few of us were in the broken cliffs area (where the blue dragons are?) And the reverse happened. I died and my body didn't generate only my pack. I was not shifted, it was in the middle of a field so it didn't fall behind a trans or get stuck in a tree. I'm sorry to post this so late but just thought i'd give a heads up before that happens to anyone else

Oddly I have been experiencing what I would consider as lag spikes. I will have lag for up to 10 seconds and then be able to freely roam for about 5 - 10 seconds afterwards. All NPC's stop.. The works. It would seem like typical lag but anytime I ask others if they are getting it they say no. I have tested the theory narrowing it down to the anphillia server by playing on other servers where I recieve absolutely no lag. This is recently new to me. I only started getting this issue about 4 - 5 days ago. Not sure if theres something wrong, but I haven't downloaded anything new recently so I am not sure what it could be. Any advice or similar problems people are having or had besides me?

I have found it very difficult recently to log into the server as well. 9 times out of 10 I have to wait untill my computer can ping the server which can be anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to log in. Sometimes it wont get the ping and show the server unavailable and sometimes it will show at -1 for a long time. Sometimes I get the standard 60-120 ping though. More often than not its at the -1 ping or shows it unavailable. Any solutions?

Do you directly connect or go through gamespy?

server reset was running better than ever about 8 am gmt then 20 minutes later it said server restarting and now it is running like crap timeing everyone out etc lagging like mad when you can get in- 9 am gmt now ;p
