The drider caves and the vikings are not really level 40 areas. The Elves near Darons likely are. There are tons of mid level areas. Most are hard to solo though.

Some of those might be off by a level or two, but that's the rough picture.
You really just need to ask characters in game. There are many places that you likely have never been to which are good for your level character. It just takes time to find them and since your level is always in flux its hard to do so sometimes.

Considering how those suggestions/advice are from J. Persinne...
I get the feeling that it requires a certain build and level of playstyle to handle those places at the recommended lvl...
What would be the suggested lvl-area list for a player like me?;;
plays it safe (retreat at half health...)
nwn gamemecanics illiterate (can't make powerbuilds...)
edit; I like the idea of an alternative to hack and slash kill over 9000 of these hostilities to get more levels method of reaching lvl 40.
I'll make a new post with my idea i just got...

It does require a certain build and level of play style to handle those places at the recommended lvl alone.
