Sorry guys not sure what is going on. I need to run for 2 hours and will keep working on it when I get back. Our laod avg is at 2.5 after its been up for a few mins. It should be around 1. I am going to try and put up the last mod that worked right before I leave.

We are back up. The process that handles the server went into and odd state I have never seen before. All should be well now.

6:45pmish (-5GMT), server started lagging and players lost connection... its still laggy and unstable as i make this post, being the only player online.. buffing.. xD

The lag problem I believe we are facing is due to our iptables not being in place and us getting attacked. I have emailed Snarley a lot and hope he can fix them and put a permanent solution in soon so that we wont have to deal with this particular issue again. Thanks for you patience in the matter.

In a moment there should now be a significant difference in lag spikes now as we are protected from brute force attacks now. Please post here with the time and let us know when you experience lag from now on. Thanks!

This is frustrating....

Im not sure what is wrong here. The server is laggy but when I ping it I get good times. I am going to keep at it and see what I can figure out.

can only see it briefly showing -1 ping....cant connect directly..times out everytime.

We are down for now and our VPS is looking into a problem that may or may not be related to ours. I expect us to be up in a few hours.

Our VPS got back to me and said this.

"There was a resource abuse issue on the node when you submitted this ticket and we were looking into who was the cause of it. The amount of load on the VPS node that was generated by the other user was causing all the other VPS servers to slow down. I logged into the node today and the load is fine."

Please let me know if we are still experiencing lag.

Lag monster is back with vengence.....its 4.00pm Western Australian time ..9am gmt and experiencing 15 sec lag

I contacted our VPS host about this problem.

There was an issue that required an emergency reboot of the VPS node that your VPS is hosted on. It should be back online soon and your VPS should be loaded again within 20 minutes.

The node actually required an fsck so that is running now, the VPS will take longer then expected to come back online but as soon as the filesystem check finishes we will boot the server back up and get it back online.
