Alright I have a couple questions and comments really quick first off I love all the work into the website and such that is being done. It's amazing! Second as a person that is a anphillia addict I would like to know what we have in store for this server and what's being worked on if anything. I've been rolling through the forums the past couple days and seen thread after thread about suggestions and ideas but never any solid ground on what's being worked on? Is moth even around anymore to do so and if not is there a way we can get permission to modify his mod ? Before the first wipe when Felix was hosting ( not saying one host is better then another by any means) we had new areas being built and items being generated what happened to all that ? I see the ats question comes up every month, is there a way to add on to ats at all? On another note we really new to stop airing out dirty laundry on the forums about other people .. If you have a problem with the way someone does something in game message it to a dm .. If you read back the past years worth of posts it seems like all it is is a big gripe fest about who's the bigger douch bag to whom it's kinda sad and looks bad to a new comer checking out the forums for the first time.... That's all I got and would love to see more active players on... If you think it was only a year ago that we had 45/45 Players on anphillia ... Thanks guys SeXy

Honestly I think you just touched on a real issue we should start looking into. Because of how anphillia came into being and how it has evolved, the staff of Anphillia Continuum really doesn't have the ability to modify the mod and be outspoken about what is being worked on because they don't know. We all owe Moth our lives for giving us such a great mod so I find it hard to try and point fingers in that direction. But I do think what we CAN do is try and organize the staff a little better. We all used to have "governments" in our factions, so why can't we turn the staff into a similar setup. We have an admin and an RPDM, why not add a few more positions and have a little more organization. Someone with a secretarial position can either directly post what's going on and what's upcoming or give me the information to add to the site. Meetings can be held in the chatroom or on the forums and polls can be taken on upcoming actions.

I understand the reason for keeping the staff small because traditionally staff=DM but I don't think that necessarily has to be the case. People here are genuinely interested in helping out and promoting our community so I say we try and do so.

My last thought is that there needs to be a better way to communicate between the staff and then a way to report what has been communicated to the community. I know I'm not really a staff member, I just work on our website but I don't have a way to really talk to the staff and get permission and/or ideas to fill out the website. I think a chatting program such as Skype that the staff can be on when they are available would be a great way to encourage communication and then more formal meetings or reports can be arranged to tell the community what is going on.

P.S. I volunteered to clean up the forums and reorganize it to give us a fresher start and encourage more meaningful discussion on the forums but I still don't have any moderator or administrator privileges to do so. If you still would like me to proceed with such a project let's get the ball rolling.

I am going to state the obvious:

- people playing here have already been everywhere and done everything
- people come here for pvp, which they cannot achieve because there's not enough players.
- if there's enough players, they are mostly afk.

Server needs a major change but our scripters are busy with their lives (which is understandable since nobody is 19 anymore), so from my perspective I think we are sitting ducks

Wipes don't solve anything. Okay, it makes people to make their 40 as fast as possible and then...Again. This server was always more pvp than RP but people seeking the pvp aspect just don't get what they want.

Just my point of view. I bet 10 persons gonna have 10 different opinions about this.

Easy solution to all this!!

Do something that would attract old/new players back. (something "shiny").

What's the status on scripters exactly? Is there a need for new ones or are we waiting on some to come back or give word on their coming back?

As it stands with every discussion thread the bugfixes and additions and thus work for a scripter keeps piling up.

Currently, here's the staff situation.

I am acting as a remote admin and handling the administrative DM things like fixing broken characters and making sure you're not cheating.
Raven is the host and an RPDM, and has full access to editing and moving things around the forum.
OmegaChaos I actually do count you as a part of the staff for your website work. I'll PM you about forum stuff.

The problem being that whenever Raven or I try to log in to the DM client, it crashes the server. I do not think this has been solved yet. If it has, I either haven't been notified or I missed that memo.

That is pretty much it. MothMan is MIA. I do not trust myself enough to try and build or script things into the mod. I did however notice while running around as a new recruit character that the interior of the Forgotten Shrine has been redone. Not sure when that happened, but it was pretty cool to see.

Last I heard, Moth was working on the post-level 40 advancement and removing the snow. I was warned long ago when I took over hosting to be wary of putting too many hands in the pot, so to speak. I may have been too cautious with this. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I'm willing to discuss the idea of one maybe two other people building and scripting. There will be some restrictions on this, like not adding new items and loot because that got out of hand the last time. I'll come up with some more specific guidelines.

I think a Wipe is in order.. Not a server Wipe a Forum wipe (Did I spook anyone>>) You could keep the RP stories (some good work done) if you want but I think everything else needs to be gone and redone, get all the old news and issues off the shelf and start new and clean with some of the new ideas and maybe make this a new clean site along with the new web page.. Then we can focus on the "from today on" changes and wish list..

I cannot get ahold of Felix via Skype, whenever I am on it he is not, so I suppose it is just bad timing? ...However he is my only solution to getting this fixed as nothing on the internet has helped.


1st. There is a way we can get all the staff into a chat group on skype, its extremely easy, problem with that, is the staff who communicate via skype are myself and you(and I don't even have your skype yet) I don't know Rann's if he does have one, and Moth, is nowhere to be found, which brings me to my next point which I'm growing slightly agitated with.

I haven't heard from Moth on here or Skype, in a long time now, the MOD is in need of work to be done((as are ALL MODS that are trying to attract/keep players there))and every time someone has come around to offer help, they are turned away until they aren't around anymore and the excuse for it is because Moth doesn't want others messing around with/messing up his work, well don't get me wrong it is all GREAT/AMAZING work, but if he is not going to be around or not have time to do the work, then we NEED other people to do it, bottom line.

The new items and such got out of hand because someone exploited a bug and didn't tell anyone ... that happens, it sucks but it happens. I'm not saying we need new all powerful weapons but to take it off the table completely seems silly just because of ones mistake on that note. Does any one know how to contact Dea_Blazing  she was a pretty good script-er/builder when I owned anphillia she did all my work for me and has a huge RP personality...ill P'M you more on this.

Also to add, I only have moderator access to the RP sections, so I cannot begin to clear up the forum if I wanted to.

OmegaChaos has Admin access. He is on it as our Website/Forum/Publicity Admin. Don't worry, it's happening. Let's focus on other issues like finding someone to actually do work in the mod as well as fixing the DM client crashing the server issues.

  I'm Confused..    How many Dae_Blazin around here?? Ok.. anyway.. Hate to say it but if Mothman is MIA much longer I say someone take ownership of the mod to allow it to move forward as needed, sorry but cant wait for one person to take on all the work, if that is not allowed I'll offer up an Anphillia v3? (CNR - Scalping) mod someone can fix up and use... We know each other from the game and on the forum, well maybe some of you see each other, anyway.. Trust and verify, give people a shot and let them show they are true to help us all, if not oh well .. and move on.. People come and go but have to do something or no one will be around..

Anph v3 is my favorite version, and CNR is slot more stable than ATS. Is the v3 mod a public release? However that is a 1 ~ 20 mod. I've played with the mod and there is an ungodly amount of work required to give it any flavor and adapt it to this communities wants/needs... V3 was pretty much abandoned when nwn2 came out and then they came out with v4 (which IMO as impressive of a piece of work, sucked ass)

Is also volunteer myself to step in as a full time RP dm, any time the powers that be see fit, I you see fit. I have big plans. My time is pretty limited but can be worked around by scheduling events and quests on these boards around my work/life schedule.

Lol nice dae ... But anyhow the point is rann and raven dae is a magnificent scriptwriter and I don't know about her time available but I do know addicted to anphillia is a problem of hers and she has an imagination ...

Okay... I am confused... as to why there is this pause/waiting for 1 person.

reviewing old topics, specifically the updates list... and join dates of this forum only makes me more complex over why we can't implement new updates.
Even if it might be trail and error. No one is completely flawless in their scripting, no offence, they've all made bugs/mistakes.. and then fixed them.

This server began updating back in April of 2011, moth only registered to the forum in June of 2011.

His very first post was him explaining how he was offered to join the staff as a scripter yet respectfully declining. His second post was September 22.. and speaking of an update he is working on for the server... September 25.
So it's safe to assume he only joined staff around August/September of 2011, that is still a good 5-6 months of another scripter(s) [J.Persinne & Felix as far as the update list shows.]

Even reading over the back and forth between Isendel and Moth on the 3rd-4th pages of this complaint topic... reference... does not provide clarification.


Why is the role of implementing additions to this server reserved for Moth?
Why can't others attempt to contribute at implementing additional things?
Is it possible terms of conditions in which he agreed to join staff and continue to add things to the MOD?
Is it due to a lack of having more available scripters with the same level of expertise/understanding of anph balance of the MOD?
Whom does this specific MOD belong too at the moment, this community or Moth?

I just don't understand why it seems 1 person is in charge of making changes to the MOD when this server started out with at least two scripters freely adding and changing the MOD as they saw fit.

I am right there with you tvals I don't understand how it all works or is working. To take one tiny step back and I'm sure I'm speaking for tvals here also I'd rather not have one crazy scripter coming up with hung son their own without some sort of voting/talk about process.. But yeah I think moth put this anphillia together from the start maybe .. Took time off when Felix got it and came back ?

In case I didn't make it clear in my previous post, I WANT SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE TO START WORKING ON THE MOD FROM A SCRIPTING AND BUILDING STANDPOINT. I am not waiting on Moth anymore. This is already decided. The only person to step up however, has been Dae Blazin being volunteered by someone else.

Also, sniqow, I believe if I've mentioned adding you on as another RPDM... but the problem still remains that we can't log in as DMs at the moment without crashing the server. That has to be fixed first.

So, that being said, we no longer need to discuss WHY we are waiting for Moth, and WHY we don't have more RPDMs, and anything like that.

What we NEED to discuss, is WHO is going to continue to script and build this Mod, and HOW are we going to fix the problem of not being able to log in to the DM client.

I'll be out of work in about 6 hours, I will play around with removing some blueprints which aren't needed and hope that is our problem, I'll keep everyone updated.

not sure if my google research helps much.. it's closest I can find about a case of 1 host can have dm's log onto the module.. and another host can't...
^ potential culprit?

also.. perhaps... maybe the settings Rann used should be share with Raven... maybe Raven has settings or something different which is the culprit.

as far as I've read in my researching... if it was a module problem... Raven would have crashed Rann's server all those times he logged in as DM... no?   

Also saw something briefly about a over 16k pallet dm crash not being the cause of a server crash...

There's a post in the staff forums here that describes an issue similar to this and the answer was to remove some of the unnecessary blueprints. Raven is going to try this to see if it helps.

I have a decent amount of scripting and building experience from when I hosted my own anphillia server. If Dae or someone else wants to step up as the head builder I would like to volunteer my time as an additional/assistant scripter/builder. This would also help flesh out the website with content.

Sniqow, with Rann's permission of course, how would you feel about coming on staff as a sort of RP and PR person to help me out with the website until the DM client situation gets figured out?
