Fixin' the Cleaven prison
Not sure if it's Cleaven only, but Axfell prisoners are able to cast spells there....
Thordis wanted to be a mean little man and he got nearly killed there...twice.
By the way Epic pit balor can unlock the door.
Why do I always have to figure things out so painfully...

'cus people take advantage of game mechanics...
-next time just kill them and leave their corpse there if they're going to give permission/accept becoming a prisoner oocly for rp (because roleplay is sort of the reason behind taking prisoners) and then attempt to pvp.
Yeah it's close to breaking the old curtesy rule of "don't raise enemies just to kill them again" but it's not like you'll be raising them more than once and they die more than twice... and if you think about it... unruly prisoners should not be kept alive long.
That aught to teach them something... dunno what... but it'll teach something!

Re: Fixin' the Cleaven prison
I always thought there was some unspoken rule that you never pick up any enemy corpse without OOC permission. As Myra says it is only for RP. Any times I have captured an enemy or been captured a conversation first occurred allowing it.
I can understand if an enemy wipes out the opposing force and carries them all to Ranzington but then even what if another ally happens along and kills the enemy carrying his team's fallen?
Altogether best to avoid corpse touching unless it is cooperative.
That being said, remember we are all players in a game. We ought not hate the other teams players, just their characters.

Yes, there is a rule, unless you get a permission from a dead guy/girl. (Which I was given)
By the way complete misunderstanding - It wasn't a cry for "omg I almost died twice!"
It was a feedback pointing out two things that really surprised me.

And I'm about positive an escaping prisoner or an attempted escaping prisoner is gonna be overly accepting to the possibilities of death again... In any case i think there should be spell failure there cause if i wanted to it could have been a very bad day for Thors and anyone else who walked into that prison.... but that being said ... it would have been cool to have run about through the halls of Cleaven prison/meeting throwing death spells at unexspecting cleavens ^^

Re: Fixin' the Cleaven prison
I agree with Sexy about the rp actions having concequences and players shouldn't be so Lawful Evil with the rules.
Yeah it'll suck eventually one someone agrees to be taken prisoner, roleplays being roudy -thinking it'll be tolerated and no further xp shall be lost.... but hopefully after any rage quit and explaining via DMs they'll understand they are in the wrong and continue playing.
(No doubt both prisons should be revampt a bit if the gate key works on the prison cell... ? Other wise a bit coocoo-bananas for the Fort captains(DMs) to expect/demand soldiers be taken prisoner and put on trail for rp ic issues.)

Re: Fixin' the Cleaven prison
Make sure you always RP: ties, gags, pack & gear removal.
A PC is not an ordinary soldier. A PC is someone who very much kills your soldiers on a daily basis - someone who battles dragons, giants and mutated half-orcs for kicks.
To think that it would be the norm for someone like that, to not try to escape, is silly!
Of course, if you do RP doing this and a prisoner then pulls out his scythe, from nowhere as he has no pack or gear. Which is more of a feat because he has bound hands and feet and then he proceeds to smack you with it while shouting "Die scum" through his gag - while you're questioning him, then I suppose you just leave them dead the next time and not give them an opportunity to RP.
Of course, I'm sure a DM would step in if they were present - but unfortunately we're not around -all- the time.
TLDR:
Roleplay is a two way street.

Re: Fixin' the Cleaven prison
Unfortunately We don't enforce roleplay.
Roleplay will be rewarded, however. (That includes past 40 bonuses)
So yes, that's the long and the short of it. If someone does that, just make sure you don't give them the opportunity to do it again.

Just make the area Subdual, problem solved?
Then you can pound away at eachother without dying.

Re: Fixin' the Cleaven prison
It solves XP loss.
Though I thought the most major issue here was an RP situation being turned to PvP, in direct opposition to the RP situation.

Yeah... could always just keep prisoners in the arena's of the forts... That would cause a lot of fun PMs or make room for more players to log into the server no doubt. xD
