Illegal Character (Spells)

I've had several characters get dwonked cause the script to check spell learning is broken.

You can somehow learn the same spell twice and this causes the character to be illegal.

I've even tried to unlearn all spells as a sorc then re-learn them but that has the same result.

So sorcerers and bard are now stuck with the spells chosen and can never change.

Wiz has to be careful what spells are chosen or the character becomes illegal.

Been trying to log in a lvl 2 or better sorc and they are broken.

No matter what I try they come up invalid because of spells. So FYI if you have a sorc don't level up.

I had the same problem but I made it all the way to 8th level before the illegal spell level character error and can't login that PC no more.

I do know there are some 2da files that needed to be downloaded which I have done so I am not sure what happened.

Have the .2da's downloaded and in your override folder?

Yup - got them all in my override folder.

I made the PC before I put them there so maybe that is it. I would remake since he is only 8th level but not sure if it was to happen again.

That's more than likely the reason!

Might be a good idea to throw essential files and changes into an easy to find section.

For instance it would have been nice to know that sorc and wiz are just a summon support class now with no crowd control.

Had I known that weeks ago I would have played a cleric with animal domain.
