PvP and You!
Alright. I just want everyone to know I'm getting sick of hearing about players that are insulting other players over pathetic stuff like getting attacked. I'm not mad at the people that report this to me, I'm mad at the people that are doing this to my players. I wont say any names so dont fear posting, I'm just going to throw out some examples.
If your out questing alone (First wrong move) and someone from the other side comes across you and decides to attack and kill you, guess what? That was your fault for not running, and being out alone to begin with.
If you walk into Ranzinton and see that there are a few members of the opposing side, maybe you should log out for a while and hope they are gone when you come back or have some team members come and help escort you back to base or another safe place.
If you get done clearing a spawn and think your safe for now and want to use the bathroom, your doing that at your own risk. You may come back to yourself in the dead zone.
I understand that its kind of a jerk move to attack someone lower level than yourself--anyone that shows up as MODERATE or EFFORTLESS--especially when they are already wounded, but guess what, thats what you have to deal with on a PvP sever like this.
I had a big problem with open PvP in WoW, hence why I dont play anymore. I player LotRO where there is a zone deicated to PvP, so when I feel the urge to do my PvP I go there for an hour or 2 then leave. (http://my.lotro.com/referral/Starbridge) If you have a problem with open PvP you have a few options here.
1. Dont play.
2. Make a text macro that you can say to try and avoid conflict. "Please dont hurt me!" By making this macro you show that you mean no harm to other players, and you might have a chance at staying alive. However, if you use this macro and you use it to get the jump on people, I will just have people ignore your cry for mercy.
3. In your character BIO put in there that you would like some kind of warning before you are attacked and/or to be ignored by Rogues, OR that you do not wish to partake in PvP. This is however a request on your behalf as a player, and other players are not forced to abide by it but it is the only way to get any kind of mercy from other players. By not partaking in PvP as a request means you CANNOT heal people that are in PvP battles or your request to stay out of conflict is VOID.
4. Dont leave the fort.
Tips!
1. Dont quest alone.
2. Make friends so you have people that are willing to save you when you need help.
3. Dont quest alone.
4. If you dont feel like dying today, dont leave the fort.
5. Dont quest alone.
(See a pattern?)
If your out and you get attacked, you put yourself in that situation, so dont insult who ever attacked you.
I would say that players should give warning before attacking, but that wouldnt be war now would it? Or doing that would making playing an Assassin or Rogue kinda pointless.
If you leave the fort, make sure your ready to die because it will happen one day.
This is a Good vs. Evil server. Welcome to the battlefield. If you dont like it, stay on the farm and churn butter.

Re: PvP and You!
Another good tip. Once you've died, while your character is changing locations, remove your hands from your keyboard for a while.
Rather than spaming like a mad person in tells, party chat, or the fugue plane.
Have yourself a private terets monologue from the comfort of your room, where no one else is forced to be your audiance.
Also, after killing someone. Resist the urge to mock them through tells and provoke any rage. You had your fun you killed them show some good sportsmenship rather then bad.

Yes, that is one other things I forgot to mention.
If you are reported to me that you mocked someone, I will not care what they say in their defense, it will be you that I put in the chair.

I concur!
Star said it well, if you're afraid of dying don't leave the fort.

*speaks directly to the imaginary person who is always whining about being killed*
This is a very good place to practice detachment. Your not your character. You didn't die, your ok. We can't all sit around and always let you win like your mother did when playing Trouble as a kid. It's ok if you loose sometimes everyone does. Congratulate your killer if you wish because they are just a fellow player who won a round.
That being said purposely going out effy hunting is very lame. In my experience effy hunters tend to get it back two fold.
Assaults are different however. The whole party of people that join an assault are fair game.
