OLD/NEW VAULT

OKAY GUYS THE SERVER IS UP AND RUNNING, I posted the new IP address under that topic, both the NEW and OLD vault are there, ENJOY PEEPS.

Was the file with the ats skills also transferred?

No it was not. As far as I know the old database files are unable to be added in with the new ones. The the old characters are without their ATS skills. Though I do believe this was already mentioned in another topic if I'm correct.

Odd, I looked through, and I see a bunch of characters under that log in, however I don't see any "Niddhogr" I just see a character file named "nddh.ggr.bic" <-- So I'm not exactly sure on this, perhaps something happend to the character itself.

I'd say we could wait until Moth can have a look at it but I havn't seen or heard from Moth in over a month. We will have to see if anyone else has this problem.

I believe that characters name has non English characters in it which nwn may handle by leaving them out. The real issue maybe more easy to remedy. Check which folder that .bic is in and make sure its not in another account. 9 times out of 10 when people think their characters are missing its them forgetting the spelling of thier player name or thinking erroneously that a character is in an account when its really in another of theirs. Lets hope its the ladder.

The likely answer to this is to replace the . in the character name with a regular character to make it valid.

So the filename will be Niddhoggr.bic instead of Niddh.ggr.bic

You could try to type in the odd character to see if it works as well, but I can almost guarantee the problem is that extra dot in the name and it needs to be replaced.

No, the vault was not transferred by mistake on mine/Rann's part((which is really the initial reason I decided to let them back once I realized after receiving the PM and then getting around to check the ban list and see it was empty)) we both forgot about it. However the only banned player which I had on the list when I was previously hosting was "SirSwitchBlade" which is what the above message in quotes is pertaining to.  

The player "Light Grenades" PM'ed me about removing the ban around when I took over hosting just a month or so ago, maybe even before that. He then sent me another one the day before New Year's Eve if i'm correct, and I didn't get back to him about it until the date on the message above, however I did choose to let the player back but on a very thin line. The moment I start to receive complaints they will be banned for eternity. Though for now, this is his second chance, and as I said if he messes up I will bring the hammer down for good on him, which I stated very clear in the PM above as well, and I did log in specifically to speak with the player about it. However I have not been logged in to actually play since I took over hosting again, i'm trying to hold off until I get the hard drive for my Laptop put in, this way I don't have to play on the CPU hosting the server and avoid putting any extra stress on it((i.e lag, etc))

It had nothing to do with the player base being down. I figured it has been several months that the player has been banned now,  and if they cross the line again then obviously a lesson was not learned and they will never be welcomed back.

Well this is all a shame to hear.

I recall it was a happy moment for the majority of quality players caught in the mix of the playerbase at the time... even if at the cost of 3-4 of his friends being unwilling to play without him.

Also TheeVals, Rann is still in charge, however that was my call on the matter since I didn't even have the ban list on file, if Rann wishes for it to go back to a permanent ban then that is what will happen.


ADDENDUM: Wait, UK as in Undying Knight? I'm not entirely sure that SirSwitchBlade/Undying Knight are one of the same person, are we certain on this even?

we're both referring to george unty... not undying.. though.. interesting you'd jump to his defense while he is not under attack......... in this convo the person (if you wish to defend someone) you'd need to vouch for/defend is george unty.

I'm under the impression that george is sirswitchblade -due to him claiming to be... he was banned for luring mobs into ranz temple.

Undying.. was temp banned before for supporting/promoting/encouraging unhealthy behavior.. (should have been temp banned for all the pvp logging he'd do... lol). I'm under the impression that he is 'light grenades' (he managed to log in and play from time to time.. even without the 'unty' group)

(If undying is actually back playing as his original name.. that's funny when considering all those posts he made about wanting the server to fail.. xD)

A legend in his own mind.

He's got one thing going for him, its nice to be in his good books if you like reaping the benefits because he is a very determined crafter and dungeon runner. The need for easy access to crafted gear and end game dungeons can often blind people.

I wonder if all of the loot that was gained through an exploit from the last wipe was accounted for.

I could go on for pages about incidences I've known of and some I've experienced first hand with this guy since 2004. He's one of the very few people the old staff had to really watch for because he would always come back and shit all over the game for whoever he saw fit under a new alias, never once learned his lesson.

In fact Goerge was worst greifer I've come across on this mod, almost the worst in any game. And that's saying alot.

Some may see this as a second chance, but to many this is a fifth, tenth or dozenth chance.

I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed, at this point I've lost all hope that the mod is good place to play.

Okay, he is re-banned.  Another thing, holy ban list, didn't realize there were that many, seems I've never had the whole thing. :-O

I would also like to add that I had no clue SirSwitchBlade was George Unty, or any other Unty for that matter. I assumed it was a random player who was just doing their time. Very sorry folks!

Would be sort of comical if they took the opportunity to pass on items while unbanned and old characters back... (since the script that checks for them was removed...) xD

it doesnt matter ... finally some action and now all the complaints come in .this server is dead the host and the rpdm dont play ,there just the complaint department. the server is small and seen it all . someone needs to make a new anphillia this one has had its day " too many days " in fact.
