Lesser green gloves

Post  Rugnarie on Wed Apr 06, 2011 5:10 am

So, I spent nearly a day to be able to get these cute gloves only to find out, that on Genesis, they are still for rogues only....could we make them available to all classes? Thanks for consideration.

P.S. I miss the Feedback section in the forums.

I vote against this. Rogues are a much needed classes, and by making this item usable to everyone, what would be the point in taking some levels in Rogue? If you ask me, some of the trap DCs are pretty weak already, and I think they need to scale up +3 for every zone away from the fort.

I just think that item usable to all makes Rogues kinda pointless to have in the party.

I don't get the point from any of you two.

UMD = Use Magic Device skill.
UMD? Bards and Rogues - if you are a rogue, no need for UMD for these gloves, if you are a bard, you already get + bazilion skill points from the song.

I have never heard of Rogues being taken into group for the reason of disabling the traps/opening the locks on Moths/Gen/Exod.
(Then again, I'm not the RP kind of guy.) Smile

edit:
okay, maybe I did, but only because of some Condor's stuff.

yeah.. I would have to say that I think it would be more functional as a crafting item if everyone were able to use it. At the same time, I like that people can't be greedy Razz "MINE MINE!"

if you really want an item with disable trap points, greater black belt.
No class restrictions. Not as much as 10 but still a decent amount. Int boost, rogue cunnin potions.

Sure its easier and quicker to get a pair of green gloves, comparitively to what is needed for a greater black belt.. but thats the reward for putting in that extra effort.

Oh really? Wow. And hey, what about Amulet of the Master? You don't even need a tailor for that.
Heh, don't mind me, I'm just little cranky 'cause I just woke up.

I know you guys gonna start hating me for comparing all the time....but on Exodus, they were available to all classes, and it just felt like a disappointment to find out, they are not on Genesis.

I can't say I recall any prohibitively difficult traps on chests in the mod. Sure, you need a rogue to disable some of them, but anyone can recover them.

I do believe there was one particularly difficult trap on a door somewhere in Condor's, but you can easily bypass that with a wand of tripping.

I'm all for removing the class restrictions as a convenience thing, but could also live with them. That said, let's face it: we're not doing rogues any favors here. We're simply aiding anyone that happens to dip for a skill dump or UMD (weapon masters and battlemages, I'm looking at you!).

I guess the main reason i am against the class restriction being taken off of these gloves is purely on the principle that I made this same request back when myra was lvl 17ish, before any forums were created or player population developed. Back when star was the host, he offered a compromise of lowering the skill points it provided and removing the class restriction.

so i simply held out for the alternative item.
Its not the end of the game if you can't use an easly made item
when there is an alternative item that can be used by all to do the same thing (disable traps.)
the only difference is investing more time into ats and finding the right ingrediants.

Rather than having everyone run about with a 16ish disable trap capability... its reserved for people with rogue classes or bards with umd, and those that put in the extra effort to get the item crafted woosh! (at least i think the belt gives aboot 6ish skill points.)

But if its in serious consideration to take the class restriction off of the gloves, I request in turn to change the Greate black belt to something else.
We don't really need two universal disable trap items and to have the +10 skill points freely dispensable to anyone.. it makes the Greater black belt lose its appeal imo.

Clearly, he's not going to manage soloing it. Or will he?

Now for the sake of avoiding this thread to further turn into a list of witty replies one right after the other... Rolling Eyes

I take your above statement as your argument of where these gloves can be useful. However there are ways around making use of them.
-You-, yes you.
You yourself have said/typed;

And if thats not enough there are countless builds on the server including rogue lvls or umd dumpage. So the players can always be braught along.

He did manage. Uncountable times.

And I have no idea why are you arguing about this...My point of making the original post with screen shot was originally made for Admin so he could say Yes or No. No need for this mumbo jumbo hehe.

Was under the impression that the host did not favor a dictatorship and welcomed all feedback from the community.

Why not just send him a PM next time if you believe he alone should make the decision? Razz
