NEW SERVERS IP ADDRESS

I can't connect. I put the IP into the direct connection box but it gives the message that

Connection to the server has failed. Server is not responding (timed out).

Sorry about that, it will be taken care of within the next 20 minutes, just posting the IP address so its out there.

Okay that should do it, had to switch around the IP, sorry again guys.

The beauties of having a router, I will get this fixed ASAP, could one of you please log back onto the primary server so its easier for me to speak with you, I know the problem but it might take a few shots and I need someone to keep testing the login

just for shits, see if your router may be listed on there... in regard to it being an out-dated list


There's alot im digging into for this, I remember having to deal with this around three times, I by-passed 2-3 different types router's, its a matter changing the ports.

okay since you have a router log into it. Next, go to something that says either virtual application or Application and Gaming. Something like that. Next there should be blanks that say what port you want and the IP. Well to know your computer IP you have to go to Run, cmd, then type ipconfig/all


After you type that click enter and it should show your comps IP. So type in port 5121 and if it says Start and End, or something like that, type 5121 in both. Then type in your IP so that it matches the one you saw on the cmd application. Okay... click save or apply on your router and close the window. Next go to your dedicated server application which is in your NWN folder and it should be called something like nwserver.exe . So open that up, choose your module and requirments and don't forget to click post to internet. That SHOULD work, but as I said.. NWN is annoying. Oh yeah.. Watch out for firewalls and stuff... They tend to stop NWN from hosting.

I manually added the IP to my history list in one of the game's configs and it shows as offline.

You're going to need the real IP address, not the LOCAL IP address. Any 192.168.whatever is going to only be accessible on your local network. If we all could come within range of your wifi and connect then that would work perfectly. Usually you can find the true IP by (on windows) running cmd.exe and using the command ipconfig\all and finding it there.

The IP you have posted is non-routable.. Is this the IP to the PC on your side of the firewall? That will be NAT'ed on the external side.. Go to google and type in "What is my IP" that is your Public IP.. If your router to your service provider is assigned dynamic, this public IP can change from time to time..

Yes Knight, do this.

Your going to have to setup port forwarding on your router as well. Also if your running the stand alone server on windows 7 you have to run it as administrator or it will crash when someone tries to login.
